What the hey, I figured I'd start a thread like this so I make sure I know what types of pokemon to bring in so you can catch them. After all, if I know what you like it's easier to make it plot pokemon. ^_^ Of course, you've seen some of my favorites already and there is sure to be more! Hopefully my current plan for one evolution isn't thrown off course... Anyway, I'm a fan of pokemon breeeding anyway so nobody be surprized when the pokemon you catch have egg moves!

Ah Gyarados...how much destruction you cause when given Surf, Thunderboltm Flamethrower and Bite. Small cities beware!

Well in the real game special attacking gyara sucks to physical attacking. Dragon Dance, Taunt, EQ, HP Flying/Double-Edge... that is equal to pwned.

Maybe...but I've always loved pulling out Gyarados and then laughing as it kills off water pokemon with Thunderbolt. If you want a REALLY evil pokemon combo. Winina's Altaria in Emerald would combo Dragon Dance and then Earthquake. That's just sick and wrong on so many levels! but very effective.

Now iamgine that, but with a STAB HP flying, and imagine that also in combination with taunt, which keeps your opponent from not attacking (thus snuffing any chance of haze, roar, spore, etc.). With indimidate it is often that when forced to attack your enemy is not a great position either

Hehe! Sounds like fun! Still...I like having Thunderbolt, just to torture other water pokemon. Of course...Thrash would be fun on Gyarados!

*shakes head* Unfortunatley, they can't stop a rampaging gyarados. Flygon actually can't even stop it from preparing to attack...
Look, I once saved a rampage. Me VS Davsshn, fianl round (it was 1-1 in a best of 3). I'm down to my last pokemon. Daveshn has 3. Read on to see how I won.

The only thing that could stop a Gyrados is a Gardevior with a maxed out Special attack and a Thunderbolt powered up by Calm mind. Plus, if it has the egg move Disable, it has the possiblity of disabling Dragon Dance. Hook line and sinker..
((If it has the ability Trace, in longer term battles, beware if you send out a pokemon who knows Levitate first before the Gyrados.))

Wouldn't work. Taunt > Disable AND Calm Mind However I would be forced to switch to dugtrio in order to kill you.
(Dugtrio would absorb thunderbolt, and with arena trap ability keeps you in the field. My netbattle duggy has HP Bug, so it would THKO you. YOU could THKO ME, but duggy is faster so it would get the second hit in before you.)
Then gyarados comes in again. Rawr.
EDIT: (And none of my pokemon have levitate)

I guess it only works if your opponent is a brain dead idiot (Like my friend.). ((Trace could cut your Attack in half if Gyrados is sent first though[i.e. TRACED Intimdiate.])) Who said that's the only attacks she knows?
(I'd be forced to send out another find of pokemon with an Electric move if I manage to THKO your Dugdrio. If not, I'd send out Lapras [Once Aura Faints...]... [Thunderbolt, Surf, Double Team, Ice Beam. Ability: Shell Armor])

Suggestion: Ability a=ought to be water absorb and instead of double team get rest, or maybe confude ray. As a user of lapras, that is my favorite moveset...lapras is my lead off in netbattle and always pulls through for me.

^_^ Someone speaking my language! All things considered, if the levels are even, then Guardivoir would go first. Since many of Guardivoir's attacks are Special based (I tend to give mine Shadow Ball as well) it could make things ugly for Gyarados very quickly. The Lapras could do a number on Gyarados as well. With high HP, above average def and special def and a decent special attack, lapras is a good pokemon for weakening opponents. Especially in the Stadium games...Took me 4 Thunderbolts from a Jolteon with a magnet to take down Lapras and god forbid the water type used Rest!
