Kimiko raised an eyebrow. "Nah, I don't we have... But I did overhear your name like a minute ago." She decided to reintroduce herself, since it didn't seem like he was paying attention. "My name is Kimiko, pleased to meet you." She stuck out her hand for a handshake.
(A courtesy pause for reaction)
"The Pewter City Museum?"

Vei extended his hand and shook hers. "Nice to meet you, too." He paused for a bit, and continued. "Yeah. I wanted to see if a certain species of Pokemon was there."
'Probably isn't. It might be in a different region. But.. I should check anyway.'
He wasn't prone to ambition, that Vei. But he had a goal. Somehow. "What are you doing here, anyway?"

Kimiko smiled. "Oh, that's easy..." She withdrew her hand, and raised it up in the air as a fist as she said this, "I'm here for adventure! Or, at least," She lowered her raised hand and scratched the back of her head. "I'm really here to explore the rest of Pewter before I set off to travel somewhere else. I haven't quite looked at that museum myself while I've been there. It seems like a cool place to go."

Meanwhile, Dirk has conveniently slinked off, heading toward the museum, still at a casual pace.

~Pichu, pi!~ Sparky had cried in alarm, and before Alex could even notice, the small Pokemon had scampered off his shoulder and bolted towards the nearest tree, scaling it with such speed and precious that would leave a Mankey green with envy. Of course, this left Alex in a very bewildered state, so much that he failed to notice the sudden addition of two more people. And thankfully so as such a quick gathering of people would have made him highly anxious.
"Sparky, what's wrong? Sparky?" His concern suddenly focused solely on the Pokemon, he rather abruptly trotted away from the group and towards the Oak tree that Sparky had decided to make his bastion of solitude. "Come down, Sparky!" Alex called up. "It's gonna be alright! No one's gonna hurt you!"
The Pichu shook his head fervently and pointed, and it was then that Alex finally noticed has the one on one discussion had suddenly evolved into a free-for-all. He nodded slightly and then looked up. "Okay, Sparks, you win. But you gotta come down. It's not safe to be standing in that tree all by yourself." He thought to say something else, but changed his mind. It would've been too cruel.
The Pichu hesitated for a moment before plopping down on Alex's shoulder, balancing nimbly before grabbing a hold of Alex's ear. They watched the two newcomers for a bit before noticing Dirk walking off. Alex turned an eye and Sparky's ear fell. The silent exchange signified Alex getting his way.
The two took off at a brisk pace, passing the two others and falling in line with Dirk. "Sorry about," Alex said with a bit of a huff. "Sparky kinda got freaked out. Too many people at the same time. He seems to be okay with you, though."
Out of his sight, the Pichu stuck his tongue out.

"Adventuring, huh..." Vei thought aloud. Azure chirped at the idea.
Then to himself, 'She's way too young to be excited about this.' He watched as her enthusiastic fist lowered. 'Seriously.'
"Well, the man I just ran into seems to be gone," Vei remarked. "Yeah. I'm heading there now. You're free to come along if you'd like."

"Really?" She considered it for a second. "I'll tag along. Museums aren't that interesting unless I have someone with me." Kimiko brushed back a strand of her long dark hair away from her face and tuck it behind her ear. She looked to the small blue crocodile at Vei's feet. "That's a rather cute Totodile, isn't it?" She started towards the direction of the museum.

Dirk gives a reassuring smile to Alex. "Not a problem," he answers. "So, I was about to go get an assignment from the museum... you can come along for that, if you'd like."

Vei peered down at Azure. It stared right back.
Vei blinked. Azure blinked.
"He's cute, you say?" Vei asked, raising his head. "I suppose so." He followed Kimiko onwards, with the Totodile in close pursuit.
'Weird girl,' he thought. 'Though I suppose he enjoys that. I wonder how the Karp is doing...'

Kimiko just smiles as she arrived at the Pewter City Museum steps. "Woohoo! We're here!" She motioned for Vei and Azure to follow. With energy, she skipped up the stairs and pushed her way through the clear glass doors to the entrance, bursting in. After paying a little fee for her ticket, she glanced around that place.
"Wow..."

After Kimiko motioned for the two to follow, Vei noticed that his pace is severely lacking. At the rate he was going, he could probably outrun a Slowpoke... and anything that happens to be slower than one.
But apparently that didn't matter. Azure was trailing behind him at about the same pace. "Ah, sorry," Vei uttered absentmindedly.
As he paid the fee, he glanced at Kimiko. "What's caught your attention?" Receiving the ticket, he ambled slowly over with Azure at his heels.

Kimiko was taking in the atmosphere of, well, whatever a museum's atmosphere was like. Quiet. Calm. She hasn't ever been in a museum like this before where there were fossils like these. As she crossed the brown tile floor she walked up to a display case. In it was an arrangement of some sorts and a distinct fossil. "Kabutops?" She read the labeling. She fluttered around the main floor, taking quick glances at everything.
Apparently, its either she lost interest and decided to take in everything all at once, or that there is so much to see, she couldn't figure out what to settle on first.

((I just thought of something. Is it really a good idea to have us start with level 1 pokemon? If we wanted to involve TR or any other bad guys, we'd get beaten in an instant. That was one of the benefits of DM'd RPs. The DM gave you appropriate leveled opponents and you could actually do something.))
Noah took one last soda from the vending machine at the pokemon center and then headed out the door.
"Bye, Noah!" The nurse yelled playfully as he left.
Noah gave her a quick wave and smile as the doors closed behind him.
"Ah, it's going to be a good day, guys." He said, looking at his pokeballs. "So, what shall we do first? We'd probably get our butts throughly whooped upon if we took on Brock. I wonder if there are any places to explore this far North?"
He shrugged. "I guess I'll head to where those bug catchers are and see if they have anything good going on."

((The levels aren't like game levels, they're only there to describe how close they are to evolution and the attacks available to them. A pokemon at level 1 is just as powerful as a pokemon of the same specie at level 30, as far as I'm concerned, but the one at level 30 has a larger movepool
You can control what happens in your private topics, so, by all means, have a team or evil organization crop up and we can all play along. Make them at a level that's equal for you to fight against. But, what's more fun now is that we have competitive PvP battles, and that's where the real challenge/fun is.
But with that power comes a lot of trust. There's a lot of honor system here, but I feel all the members are trustworthy enough not to do anything stupid.
One last thing, Dave... if you don't plan on mingling with the other characters in this topic, you'd be better off creating your own topic to follow your journey to wherever you're headed. We don't want too many tangents going off in one topic, or it just gets confusing.))

Vei himself was surprised at the sight. There were no museums in Johto. This would be the first time he would be seeing a pile of bones in such a way -- just like he imagined earlier. He looked up at the helmeted skeleton -- one of the only ones he knew about. Kabutops, the Shellfish.
And then he averted his gaze to the one hanging from the ceiling, the one from his previous imagining. The Aerodactyl was silent in its bony glory, perhaps wishing to fly again.
Azure growled, and Vei looked at where the little crocodile was pointing. Kimiko was going about every which way. There was no way that Vei could keep up with that kind of pace. He made his way across to Kimiko, and made a slight jab. "Having fun, there?"
