The pokecenter in Mauville is like much of the rest of the area, highly dependant on electricity. Although, this particular place is better than most. The Joy here boasts the most advanced pokemon care facilities in Hoenn. Nurse Joy gives a bright smile as she sees the newcomer, "Good Afternoon sir. Here to have your pokemon healed or just a checkup for them?" The full cafeteria to the side has the smell of food wafting through the break area that trainers sit and wait in. Today it seems the special is General Tso's Chicken with rice, though trainers can still get the usual selection of fast food, grilled to order in this particular place.

"I just need my pokemon healed, although I suppose a check up would not hurt either."
He smelles the delicious scent of General Tso's Chicken and his mouth waters. He then hands over his pokéballs to the nurse and walks off toward the cafeteria to claim some of that wonderful chicken, while he waits for the nurse to do whatever she needs to do to his pokémon.

Nurse Joy smiles and gives a nod as she takes the pokemon, "Ok then, I'll give you a call over the speaker when your pokemon are ready." In the cafeteria line, there are many people talking, but one conversation might get your attention.
Camper: Did you hear? There's supposed to be some kind of giant cat that's been seen around the Power Plant.
Cooltrainer: I saw it for a moment, but it's super fast. My Ninjask couldn't keep up with it when it ran.
Biker: I saw it! It was all yellow and white. For a while it was racing me, then I guess it got bored and then took off like a bolt of lightning.

*The conversation peaks his interest so he goes over to investigate always interested in hearing about other pokémon* "Excuse me but I could not help overhearing. What exactly is this thing that you saw?"

The Biker shakes his head, "I really have no clue what it was. Think of a giant cross between a Delcatty and a Granbull, only the furr was yellow and white and there was the smell of ozone around it, like the smell in the air after a Thunder attack. When it disappeared, it almost looked like a lightning bolt arching across the ground." The cooltrainer nids, "Indeed, when the pokemon Ninjask was after got bored, it disappeared in a bolt of electricty."

*He stands there taking in every detail of their account* How long ago did you see it and do you know which way it might have been headed?

The biker scratches his chin, "Well, I was on cycling road, so I would have to guess that it went toward the Power Plant actually. The camper gives a nod as well, "Yep, I was off fishing east of town and saw it as I was coming back, it was headed kind of south west, the only thing down there is the power plant. Sighing, the Cooltrainer adds, "The only one that can go in there is Wattson. He's kind of picky, but you might be able to see if he'll let you into the powerplant to look around. I'd be careful though, electric pokemon tend to gather in power plants."

*He thought back to his origonal purpose in this area, to unravel the mysteries that lay dormant within it. Fossils had just been his convenient excuse. Now he had a new mystery to add to his plate and it seemed that Wattson was the one who would provide him with the keys to what he sought. That would be his next stop... but first, General Tso was calling his name.*

For the cafeteria style, they certainly dish out a goodly amount which both smells and tastes awesome. The cook is definately someone who knows what their doing. It isn't long before the meal is finished off and you put the tray and plate up to make cleaning easy for the pokemon center workers. Now there's just one question...head for the power plant or to Wattson's gym?

*He knew that the powerplant was the place to go... however he did not want to go tresspassing and he had planned to meet wattson anyway. At least by finding him int he gym he could kill two birds with one stone.... he hoped. He went back to the desk to see if his pokemon were ready*

Joy gives a bright smile and takes out a tray with your pokemon on it, "Ah, Brian right? Your pokemon are in excellent condition, although one looks to have caught a bug. It's not harmful or anything, in fact it looks like the bug is actually helping your pokemon get stronger."

*He nods and takes his pokemon* Is it contagious? *He asks out of curiousity*

Joy gives a small nod, "Yes, but only among the pokemon that you are carrying with you. Any pokemon that are in your box are safe."
(Emerald is the fist time I ever encountered the vaunted Pokerus. I haven't noticed much difference though.)

(Pokerus increases EV's that a pokemon would recieve in battle. 4 ev's = 1 point of growth in a stat during a level up. I've never been lucky enough to get it though)
*He smiles and thanks the nurse fot that piece of information. Slowly he exits the pokemon center making sure that all of his pokemon have fully recovered before over to the large building with the word 'Gym' emblazoned on the outside*

Besides the Gym emblazoned on the side, the front has a large neon sign that reads "Gym" as well. The entire thing looks to be quite a drain on power for the most part, but then, this is an electric gym. The doors open automatically as you get closer. Inside, the building looks unlike many gyms, with a large aerna in the middle with lights all around it, though the lights are off. In various sections, trainers are competing with each other or training their pokemon in new moves.
