Vei blinked. As he uncomfortably went closer to 'hug' he began to feel suspicious. Not that he hadn't already. But in any case, the idea was uncomfortable. But this was a polite gesture, and if he could get her out to the street again, he'd be willing to make a few comfort zone sacrifices. "Nice.. to meet you too." He released himself, and spaced out for a bit.
The Totodile crawled on top of Vei's head instead, and ended up sitting there.
...Weird girl.
"...So. Would you mind telling me what you were doing out there, Iza?"

Iza idly chats with him, not particularly bothering to let go quite yet. As she speaks, her hand stealthily worms into his left pocket. "Oh, you know! Seeing new places, trying new things! I've never been to Johto... What about you?"

Why is this girl holding on? Vei thought. He tried once to back off, but she held on... rather tightly. "Well... I live in this city. I usually just fish out on the docks."
He spaced out a little more. I don't get it... I just met her. I really don't get it.
But then, he finally just went out with it. Flatly. "Uhm, why are we still hugging? It's not like it's been forever since we've seen each other..."

Iza had finally got her hands on something deep in his pocket. It was really wedged in there, though... she couldn't sneak it out.
"Uhm, why are we still hugging? It's not like it's been forever since we've seen each other..." "Uh..."
Well, it was all or nothing now!
Iza jumps back, pulling out whatever happened to be in his pocket with her. It was the only way to get it out, though now it was probably very clear to him that she was holding something that belonged to him.
With a cheeky laugh she runs deeper into the alley, looking for a scaffolding to climb. She didn't even bother to check what she was holding in her rush, but it felt round and smooth.

Vei just kind of stood there, dumbfounded.
Okay, he thought. Let's check.
She took something.
Wallet? No, that's still there.
Magikarp? Okay. He's gone.
"Crud," Vei cursed. "Iza, get back here!" With an awkward standing start, he began to give chase. This alley is a dead end, I know it. The only scaffolding is near the end. I think I can catch her before then..

WHOOOO- BAM!
Vei, assuming he runs forward, quickly found there was something hitting his face. With a lot of momentum. It was invisible, sticky and long and it seemed to originate from that harmless red zigzag on the wall.
The green body of kecleon materialized on the wall, claws digging into the building and laughing with a kekekekekeke kind of laugh. Though, swinging its tongue around has loosened it from the building, and with a pitter-patter of chipping brick the lizard suddenly comes out, hitting the ground with a hard thud.
There's a bit of a pause, and then it looks up at Vei with the most innocent expression it can muster. Iza, meanwhile, seems already pretty deep in the alley... man, she knows how to run.

Vei's face twisted. This would be the second time to be hit in the head with that thing, and it still wasn't pleasant. As it fell to the ground, Vei's face remained how it was, and it soon shifted to a blank stare at the little Kecleon.
And then it was just a staring contest between a dumbfounded and irritated Vei and an 'innocent' lizard.
"Alright, I'm going after your trainer.. but geez," he remarked, "she runs really freaking fast." He walked around the Kecleon in the hopes that it wouldn't try something at this moment, and then began to (again) try and give chase.

Kecleon just watching Vei run off, then gets onto its feet and begins scaling the building again, this time with its sights set on the roof.
Iza, meanwhile, leaps onto the scaffolding and sprints up it with lots of heavy metal "CLANGS" at each footstep. She's panting now but she's gonna get away with... well, whatever she was holding. Through the harsh breathing she smiles, feeling the thrill of being chased.
Ahh... bliss.
As soon as she reaches the roof she slows down, stumbling toward her kecleon at the roof's other edge, clutching the stolen item to her chest. But wen she finally takes a look at it, she's dumbfounded; a pokeball?!

Vei was glad that the Kecleon made no further action. He had to get that Magikarp back. He put all he had into reaching that ladder (however little effort that would be), panting by the tenth step. When he finally reached the ladder, he was exhausted.
"If... If I knew I was going to be putting this much effort into today.. oh.. I don't know." He took a while to jump up and grab the bar, but once he got it he scrambled up it like an awkward monkey.
He was gasping for air once at the top. "Egh." He squirmed for the roof, uttering, "Iza... Pokeball."

Iza was very uneasy about stealing a pokemon; she herself understood the fridnships a trainer had with his pokemon. She hesitates, but with a nod turns to face the exhausted kid and hands him his magikarp solemnly.
"Sorry about that," she says. "Let's... let's hug and make up!"
Despite Vei being sweaty and exhausted, she had a feeling the real prize was in his other pocket.

"Sorry, I'll pass this time..." he said wearily. "For one, I'm sweaty.. two.. I'm tired.. lastly.. last time we hugged... it ended up like this." After a bit, he added, "Though.. I do forgive you." With much effort, he put Magikarp back in his pocket.
I have to be careful around her.. but I'm really tired. It's going to take a while before I have enough energy to chase her again if she tries something else...
He clutched the pendant, still panting.

Iza frowned and scratched her head. "No... hug?"
Curses! Foiled again!
"Well, I guess THIS really is my cue to leave, then!" She turns enthusiastically and charges toward the roof's edge, only to realize-- oh nuts1 The angry townsfolk are still down there!
She stops at the roof's edge and takes a few cautious steps back, but she's spotted by the townsfolk below. "There she is!" "Get her!"
They soon begin crowding around the building's base, spreading toward the nearby scaffolding like a large, collective amoeba.

"You know," Vei said, calmly and flatly, "if you'd just apologized at the beginning there wouldn't have been a mob." After a second he added, "However cliche' that happens to be."
Azure sat comfortably upon Vei's head, nodding after each statement.
What to do... what to do, he thought. "So what are you going to do? By now I think they're up in arms right behind me."
True to his prediction, the crowd began making thousands of clanking noises on the scaffolding. In no time they reached the top, stopped only by Vei's limp body resting against the top of the ladder. "Move it, kid!" "The girl! Get the girl!" "What's taking so long?" they all cried out.
