Ahz nodded and fallowed them, Raia keeping close to his left side. Ahz realized he was under dressed for the city, so he quickly ducked into a changing room. Popping back out in his uniform and tattered cloak, the hood again hiding his face.

Richard entered the shopping mall and was greeted by a pleasant hello, which he quickly returned in kind. There was no point in making everything he did a bad deed, it would make the real ones seem less potent.
He walked up a few stairs with Wing perched on his shoulder. He could tell that the young starly was getting anxious.
"Patience, Wing, patience. We need to seek out the right... ah. There we go."
Richard spotted several people looking at clothes. Several of them had their pokemon out and, of those several, three of them were starlies. He smiled and then walked up another flight of stairs.
"You know what to do, Wing. Go to it." He smirked.
With a grin on her beak, Wing flew down the stairs and quietly hopped its way over to a pokemon, a flareon. Without warning, Wing smacked the unsuspecting pokemon with her wing. When it turned, she stuck her tongue out at it and flew low to the ground, letting it chase her while its clueless trainer was telling it to come back and knocking over clothing racks as he chased it.
Wing led the fire cat through different isles, staying low to the ground and out of sight of the other confused customers and sales clerks who were trying to get the trainer to stop. She occasionally turned around to smack it again when no one was in range, causing the flareon to be more agitated.
With one final sharp turn, Wing flew into a pile of clothes and hid herself while another, innocent, starly stood on top of the pile, unaware of what was happening. When the flareon turned the corned that Wing had turned at, it saw the innocent starly standing on the pile of clothes with its back turned. Ceasing the moment, the flareon let out a flamethrower at the starly, who screamed in pain.
"Hey, what'd your dumb cat do that for?" The starly's owner yelled.
"It's for what your dumn ratatta with wings did to her!" The flareon's owner shouted back, having seen only that a starly was harassing his pokemon.
Richard leaned against the stairwell and heard the voices shouting.
"Showtime." He said to himself as he walked down and entered the now-trashed clothing room.

I remember Kimiko said she wanted to go shopping...
Dirk leads the way through the bustling seaside Lilycove city to the towering shopping mall. "Kimiko," he says, "I still owe you for the amber, so I wouldn't mind buying you something, my treat."
He notices Ahz trailing behind, furtively glancing around much as he always does. "Ahz! Did you want to come shopping with us?"

Richard stepped into the room to see the two people arguing while a sales clerk was demanding that the flareon's trainer pay for the damaged clothes.
"What's going on?" Richard rhetorically asked one of the on-lookers.
"That guy's starly pissed off that guy's flareon and the flareon attacked it, ruining those clothes. So now there's a big argument over who's responsible for the ruined clothes."
Richard pretended to think for a minute. He then snapped his fingers, pretending to have thought of an idea.
"Hey!" He announced. "Why don't you two have a one-on-one pokemon battle to decide who's fault it is? Loser has to pay for the clothes."
"Are you nuts?" The clerk shouted. "I don't want any more clothes ruined!"
"Not here, numb skull." Richard said with a laugh. "Up on the roof. Both of them will put down the money that will pay for the clothes, winner gets his money back."
"That works for me!" The flareon's owner, a tall man, boasted. "My flareon could beat that starly easily."
The starly's owner, a young boy, cracked a smile as he reached for a pokeball. "That doesn't matter. Because my medicham will eat you alive."
"What?" The tall man shouted. "You can't do that! You have to use your starly!"
"Actually, all this guy said was that it had to be one-on-one. He didn't say what pokemon you had to use." A random on-looker said while pointing to Richard.
"Hmph, fine. Sorry, Flareon, I'll be using Croconaw to teach this kid some respect."
The on-lookers were getting excited and eager for the match, but Richard slowly got everyone to quiet down, saying that there was one more matter to deal with.
He looked at the store clerk. "Well, what do you say? It's your store and your merchandise."
With all of his customers and even some of his employees staring at him, waiting for a reply, he had no choice.
"Sure. I'll get paid so ok."
The crowd erupted and cheered right before Richard coaxed them all into following him up the stairs. Once everyone was out of the store and the clerk had locked it up so he and his employees could watch, Wing crawled out of the pile of clothes and flew out an open window. She'd wait for Richard later.
While waiting, she perched on a lamp post that was next to the mall entrance and smiled.

Dirk heard flapping wings and twisted around to see a small black and white bird pokemon perched on an unlit streetlight, grinning mischievously. Without thinking, he felt his hand move to squirtle's pokeball. He had a rhyhorn to cover him on land, and squirtle at sea, but he was still missing a third pokemon that worked in the skies.
A wild pokemon in a town was very rare-- rarer still was the appearance of a pokemon native to Sinnoh in Hoenn. But Dirk paid these facts no mind. He had a pokemon to catch!
((We could make this a full-on battle depending on how you react...))
"Squirtle, go! Hit that starly with a water gun!"
Squirtle emerges from his pokeball with a burst of light, and shot a jet of water out from its mouth at the starly...
((Dave's not around, so forget it. I'd rather move on.))

Ahz snapped his attention on Dirk and stared at him blankly slowly processing the request. Assessing the possible risks as well as many other factors such as: amount of money on hand, supplies he needed and how sociable he wanted to be. Ultimately wasting ten minutes for a simple "Sure!"
Raia sometimes worried about her masters knack for over thinking things. Raia personally wanted to play with the Kirlia some more and taste that strange "ItemFinder," so fallowing these people was obviously a good idea!

"You guys can go on ahead without me," Dirk says to his companions. "I've been looking for a good flying-type for a while."
"Awesome," Dirk answered to Ahz. He then noticed a grinning starly perched nearby, and actually was tempted to catch it-- he had rhyhorn for land and squirtle for sea, but was still looking for a pokemon that could cover him in the sky. But a rare pokemon in town, away from its native region... it was a bit too fishy to Dirk. And, he had a promise to keep.
He headed inside the store.

As they entered Ahz looked around frantically keeping his face hidden especially from the security cameras. Off a little ways he could see a clothing store in shambles. A lot of people could be seen moving quickly from there, to a staircase leading some where unknown. "What might that be about?" Ahz asked pointing the scene out to his companions.

"Can't be anything good." Dirk follows a few store patrons lagging behind the crowd, up the stairs until he comes out on the shopping mall's rooftop.
It's quite a scene. A huge crowd of people are cheering and yelling; something appears to have gotten them riled into some mob mentality. Oh, joy. Dirk keeps his wits about him and tries to shove his way through the crowd, though he's having a tough time.

Ahz watched Dirk run off after the store patrons. Deciding not to fallow for fear of there being a large crowd upstairs. Instead he stayed next to Kimiko who hadn't moved yet. "Um Kimiko-chan whats say. we let him tell us about it later and go ahead and look around at the things for sale eh?" Ahz pleaded.

"Um... okay sure." Kimiko decided that since the crowd was going somewhere, the stores would be clear of crowds, making browsing an enjoyable experience. Plus, Mint wouldn't get lost should they ever be separated. Mint on the other hand, wanted to follow and see what the big hubbub was about. But soon, the little psychic ballerina was being tugged over to the trainer's direction. "No, Mint. no follow crowd. You could get lost."
"Kir." {Bah.} Mint was genuinely curious about what was going on.
"Aw, and I was about to get you something to eat, too." She gestured to the food court. "How does some vanilla ice cream sound, hmm?"
"Kirlala kir?" {No kidding?} Mint weighed her options again. "Kirla! Kir laia!" {Ice cream! With sprinkles!}
"Haha, thought so." She turned to Ahz. "Mind getting anything to eat?"

Dirk finally manages to get somebody to tell him what's up, meanwhile. "These guys are battling to see who pays for damaging the store!" a young boy excitedly says to Dirk. The explorer shakes his head in disgust. "People will fight for any reason these days. They waste time with stuff like that rather than getting out and exploring and learning... well, I guess that's why I have a job."
Dirk makes his way downstairs with rhyhorn to Kimiko and Ahz, who seem to be taking advantage of the empty store. "Apparently there's some dispute over paying for damages."

"Ah certainly! I'd love to," Ahz replied with a big grin. "And I'm sure Raia would love something too." Raia's ears perked up at the mention of food. She jumped in the air excited and proceeded to run around her trainer frantically. Finally stopping to nudge the Kirlia and smile.
"Please lead the way Kimiko-chan!" Ahz said bowing slightly and extending his arm dramatically.

Once everyone got to the top of the roof, the man and the boy took opposite positions after handing the clerk what they would owe if they lost.
"Ok folks." Richard said, stepping up to play ref. "This is one-on-one. Loser will pay while the winner walks away."
The crowd laughed at his little joke.
"On this side of the roof, we have a Johto starter and you know none hit harder, it's a beast that's ready to feast... CROCONAW!"
The crowd began wooting and getting in to Richard's performance. He raised his hand to quiet them.
"And on this side, it calls Hoenn its home, its hands and feet meet at your defeat... MEDICHAM!"
Again the crowd roared as the two pokemon stared each other down.
"Are the battlers ready?"
"Yes!"
"Ready!"
"Are the pokemon ready?"
"Croc!"
"Medi!"
Richard paused to build up a little suspense. "AND IS THIS CROWD READY?"
"YEAH!"
"THEN LET'S HAVE A BATTLE!"
Without hesitation, the two charged in on each other and began going blow for blow with a maelstrom of attacks.
Croconaw landed a water gun. Medicham got knocked back, but countered with a jump kick that hit the blue reptile in the gut. Croconaw got back to its feet and got in close for a few slashes. Medicham got hit hard but countered with a well-placed mega punch.
The punch knocked Croconaw back a few inches, but it recovered and caught the fighting psychic's arm in its teeth before it could swing again. On orders, it then slammed the medicham into the ground.
"Man, that croconaw's going to own that medicham!" One of the crowd shouted.
Richard smiled. That's what he was waiting for.
As the flurry of attacks continued, Richard scootched over to where the crowd member was.
"What are you, blind?" He asked. "The medicham is waiting for the right moment."
"No way." The man laughed. "That blue dude is going to make that medicham black and blue!"
"Care to make a wager on that?" Richard chuckled as he held out five dollars.
"Heh, sure. For five bucks, I'll add some excitement."
"Hey, not so fast!" A woman shouted. "I want in on this, too! Twenty on Medicham! I trust the cute guy in the black jacket!"
"I'll take that bet!" Another man said as the two pokemon continued their rumble. "Hey, guy with the croconaw, you're getting 50% of the winnings if you beat him!"
"Oh is that how it's going to be, huh?" The woman asked before giving the same offer to the boy with the medicham.
It wasn't long before almost everyone on the entire roof, even people who were there before the fight, had made bets. Richard had made more than just the five dollar one to keep things exciting. He didn't care if he lost. He knew that Team Blade would reimburse him for this. But now, it was time to raise the stakes.
"Man, that croconaw is going to get so beat, it'll wind up with at least three bones broken! I'll bet on that!"
"I'll take that bet!" A person said.
And, just like that, the stakes of every win were raised and now chants from the crowd were telling the opponents to maim each other. Even the clerk was getting in on it, putting up the money that the loser would pay if his choice lost and didn't brake its foe's knee.
Richard smiled. He had noticed one person going back downstairs, but that didn't matter. Team Blade's underground pokemon fighting league got a lot more potential customers.

Mint tilted her head at what Dirk said. //Big explorer man says that there's a fight upstairs about whom to pay damages for clothes?// Cherry red eyes blink once. //Ah, not more interesting than ice cream!// Mint then looked down to the Shinx and grinned.
Kimiko navigated her way around towards the food court area. The place was deserted save for a few patrons and some of the people behind the counters, unable to see what was all the commotion about because of their shifts. Barely any lines. She made her way to the ice cream parlor and placed her order for two soft-serve vanilla ice cream cones with rainbow sprinkles.
"Kir kir la laaa la, kir kir la laaa la!" {I'm gonna get iccce cream, I'm gonna get iccce cream!} Mint beamed when her cone was handed to her. "Kir laia!" {So colorful!!!!} She licked at it. "Kir kirlia!" {And edible!}
