Ahhhhh, what a beautiful day! You've just left the lab of the famed Proffessor Elm, with your very first pokemon in hand. It's a great, sunny day... a perfect day to begin your adventure!
From here, you can see your house and a few other houses... plus, there's the route that leads off deeper into the region where you can really begin adventuring.
(Do you want your growlithe at level 5, since it's brand new? I made it level 18 before so you can fight somewhat equally with the others, but if you plan to start from here and travel on, then you may want to start at a low level and just pick up levels from there.)

'Wow! I can't believe I'm finally going on my own adventure! I'd better say goodbye to mum first though...' (If I reffer to me, do I say "Jason" or "I"? Also, I think it would be better if Growlithe is level 5. Thanks in advance!)

((Your choice; as for me, I don't say either. I simply say what Banov says in quotes; I'm Banov automatically, so theres no need to identify myself. Same for you.))
So, with that you enter your own home, greeted by the gaze of your mom.
"Hey, dear! Did you get a pokemon? Can I see?"

"Yeah, you're going to love it!"
Jason threw the Pokeball into the air, to be greeted by a small puppy like Pokemon, with a few black stripes across it's orange coloured fur - his very first Pokemon, a Growlithe! (Sorry if my writing sucks...)

(Your writing's fine. And BTW, growlithe is puppy-like. Vulpix is the fox pokemon.)
"How sweet!" your mom squeels, kneeling down and stroking the little dog. "I guess this means you'll be leaving, right? I- I'll miss you, honey. Don't forget to stop by again sometime, or maybe send a postcard. Oh- I'll miss you, dear."
She gives you a hug, then looks at you one last time, smiling.
"Good-bye, dear."
And with that, you're ou the door andback in town. In the North's the professor's lab, plus there are a few houses, and of course the path leading out and away.

"Well, I guess I'd better go then, so long, New Bark Town, I will sure miss you.."
And so the journey begins (am I allowed to say that?)

(Sure, why not?)
It isn't long, however, as you're en route to the next town that you hear some yelling behind you from town. efore you know it, a kid about your age with long red hair's come dashing out of new bark town, clutching a pokeball to his chest. He's running pretty fast, straight for you, biut he doesn't seem to notice you yet as he's looking back at his pursuer, Proffessor Elm.

"What the?!" Jason thinks to himself, "I'd better stop him!"
"GO GROWLITHE!!!"

The dog materializes before you, the boy tripping on it. He barely manages to catch his balance, tunning back to give you an evil glare. He's about to make another run for it when growlithe bites into is pant-leg, holding him back. Elm reaches you, gasping. "Jason! That kid stole one of our starter pokemon! Get it back from him, please!"
The kid grimaces, releasing a small blue crocodile-like thing. "Totodile!" It cheers, leaping into the air.
"You can't have him back! He's mine now!" the boy shouts, scaring even the chipper pokemon. "Totodile, get that thing off me with water gun!"

"Growlithe, dodge it!" "Now, use...uh..tackle?" 'Dang, I don't know any of Growlithe's moves...'

Nfoprtunatley, just tellling a pokemon to dodge something, especially from close range while preoccupied rarely works. The growlithe deperatley lets go and is about to leap back, but recieves the attack before it can totally get out of the way. It's still in good shape, though.
It then leaps forward, crashing into totodile and knocking it back a bit.
"Good, Jason! Keep going at it!" Proffessor Elm yells to you.

"Now Growlithe, bite that totodile!"

((Levels don't aply to attacks. A level five growlithe knows www.psypokes.com/dex/pokedex.php?id=058&view=attacks all of those moves, along with 3 TMs of your choice and 2 egg moves. You've gotta tell me your 3 TMs and 2 Egg Moves in the genral section, though, in one of those topics.... feel free to try again. ^^))

Growlithe leaps forward, biting into the blue Totodile visiously. I yelps in pain, looking back at its trainer and wimpering.
"Suck it up and fight!! Give him a good water gun!!"
