It's a fairly nice overcast day in Violet City.... bird pokemon can be seen hovering in the skies as well as the Bellsprout Tower, which seems to loom over the city.
A look around the town would reveal some interesting area... the pokemon gym being one, as well as Sprout Tower, a large Trainer's School, and a booth on the other end of town with a sign that says "Ruins of Alph" over it. There's a also an exit behind you, through which you just came, and another exit South which would take you to Union cave and then Azalea Town, as well as tall grass to look for pokemon. There are also a few lakes and ponds in various areas around the town, in which you see some water pokemon playing.
Your bulbasaur wears a look of concern, its head swishing side to side searching for a spot of beloved sunlight. The stage is set and it' s time to start your journey for real!

Rayn kneels down next to Flora and pets the bubasaur's head.
Rayn: Something wrong Flora?
As he asks he looks from his bulbasaur to the spots around town and then at the lake.
Rayn: Need a swim before we keep going? Is that it, or do you just smell something funny?

Flora gives a little wimper, unable to explain to you it wants some sunlight. The idea of a swim perks it up though, and it chipperly nods.
Flora: Bulba, bulb!
She trots ahead of you, heading for a largish lake on the edge of town.

Gives a laugh, walking after the Bulbasaur. After all, an unhappy Bulbasaur is a very sluggish bulbasaur and that just wouldn't be good at all.
Rayn: Ok ok...we'll take a break for a few moments and see what's around here. I was thinking we'd get some rest inside today instead of camping out, what do you think?
His eyes look over the buildings as they pass. He needed to get some supplies too, though thankfully he still had his Blue Tent and bag.

As it trots along, Flora looks back and shrugs, leaving the choice up to you. She's got no preference over what to do.
It takes a few minutes, but you arrive at the destined lake. It's pretty big, with trees surrounding it. Flora jumps in immedietly, splashing around in the shallow water and soaking it in.
In the meantime, your attention slowly drifts to the tall grass which stands around the lake.....

He grits his teeth, trying to avoid the inevitable...but it's no use. After an amazing 30 seconds of resisting, he begins to slowly head through the tall grass in search of new pokemon and new challenges...to boldly go where no trainer has gone before! Though still within range of calling for Flora just in case.

As you crawl around, you eventually find yourself near the banks of the lake. As you look around, you suddenly see a ripple in the water- and out leaps a magikarp. It plops onto the ground before you, but before you can react a second pokemon leaps out and bites into the fish, the magikarp serving as lunch for the small blue Totodile who you've just come into contact with.

Rayn gives a small "Meep" as the Totodile jumps out of the water. He only gives a moment to recover before whistling for Flora. He really doubted he'd have another chance at this.
Rayn: You up for a small match little guy?
He asks the Totodile quietly, trying not to have the pokemon snap at him as well.

The totodile tilts its head, thinking for a momwnt. However, once it sees Flora it takes a step back. It frowns, then decides that it would be stupid to try and take on that thing what with it ebign a grass type. It turns around and leaps up, but it makes the mistake of jumping high; thus giving you a moment to react while it's in the air!

Rayn gives a grin, this was his chance. He hadn't really expected the Totodile to be that smart. That was his mistake.
Rayn: Flora! Quickly, use your Vine Whip to wrap up the Totodile!

The vine whip... well, it whips out quickly and snaps past the totodile, wrapping around it and yanking it back to the grass. It tumbles and rolls across the ground, then gets up on t find its escape covered by Flora.
Left with no choice, it launches forward and slashes at Flora with its claws, doing a moderate amount of damage.

Rayn crosses his fingers, hoping that Flora would be able to hold out. Blubasaurs had pretty good defense, but he was sure that Totodiles had some pretty high strength.
Rayn: Ok Flora, while he's close use Leech Seed!

The totodile isn't able to react as it's pounded by a seed launched at high speed from Flora's bulb, immedietly splitting apart. The totodile's quickly contricted by a web of vines, it's strength sapping away. It's still able to move, and launches forward again to give Flora good bite on the leg. Slowly it's entergetic expression fades into a tired look....

Rayn smiles once more, seeing the tired look. A Totodile would be an awesome...if harder to train, pokemon to add to his roster. He reaches into his pocket to grab a pokeball.
Rayn: Flora, keep him held down with your vine whip.
With that, he throws the pokeball and cross his fingers, hoping for luck.

It notices the ball as it moves towards it, gaining a perk of energy and frantically trying to break free, but it's hopeless at its curent state.
Bomb!
Roll, roll, roll.
Ding!
DO-DAH-DO.
You caught a totodile, hurray for you.
Flora looks ready to get down to business so maybe now it's time you went off to do other things, unless you feel like looking for more pokemon.
NOTE: Don't expect to catch anything out of the ordinary here now, though.
