Kylie was very young when she started as a trainer under her father, one of the previous Mt. Battle champions. It was on her 8th birthday that disaster struck. While her father was showing her the top of Mt. Battle, men from Cipher came and challenged in order to test their "new" pokemon. He was killed before her eyes with Shadow Pokemon.
After that, she was taken to a section of of the mountain that few, if any, people go to and left to die. It was as she was hungry, tired and cold that she stumbled into a cave with a large egg. It looked just as miserable and cold as she felt. Huddling against the egg, she fell asleep.
In the morning when she awake, all that was left were shards of the egg and scratches on the ground. Intent on finding her way back, she left the safety of the cave to find her way back. No more than a handful of steps out of the cave, she was tackled by a very young, green, serpentine pokemon that had brought back the food it had found.
A week later, the young Kylie and her first pokemon emerged. They were inseperable inside and outside of battle, carving a swath through the ranks of all that challenged them. She gathered pokemon where she could and climbed to the summit of Mt. Battle with the pokemon she raised. Nobody argued when the young girl soundly defeated the old Mt. Battle champion and replaced him.
Still, she's not fully satisfied. There are a few trainers she hasn't been able to fight and she's very competative. Looking for trainers with rare pokemon to challenge, she created the Legendary Cup, the first Pokemon League sanctioned event in Orre. Every year, the cup is held, though Kylie is no longer able to compete after winning for 5 years straight. She is still the head of the comittee for the Cup and personally sends the invitations and hands out the awards at the end.
Rumor hold that when Cipher attempted a small comeback about a year after defeat, she personally went and dealt with the problem personally.
